Clearwater Resort, Christchurch, NZ, House of The Year 2003

In July 2002, DEVI heating system was installed in the Smith House, Clearwater Resort, Christchurch in New Zealand. The two-level constructed contemporary home graces a superb site with pleasant views to the north over the sparkling waters of the lake and golf course beyond.

Unsurprisingly, in 2003, the jury of Registered Master Builders announced that house as “The House of The Year 2003”.

The annual Registered Master Builders House of the Year is New Zealand’s premier residential and commercial building awards program. In its 13th year, these nationwide awards recognise excellence, quality, and innovation in the building industry. The Smith House was chosen as “a unique home, and an outstanding example of construction skills, illustrating the obvious co-operation evident between the owners, Clive Barrington Construction Limited, and everyone involved,” as the jury commented.

The house is situated on an exclusive golf course development amidst many other exceptional properties, most of which are heated by DEVI. DEVI are firmly established at the “top end” of the New Zealand architectural market.
